I reckon the bust is being inhibited by all the QE money sloshing about the system. Did anyone see Newsnight last night? This realignment of Capitalism is only just beginning.

I didn't see it but kudos to all with the insight to realise the above.

  • ...And as far as Northern Ireland goes... just wait till after the next general election (Probably next year) when the swathes of Public Sector cuts are implemented.... N. Irelnd will suffer more than rest of the UK when this happens... and it will!!!
  • Thanks for bringing this thread back to life!

I remember telling people in 2006/2007 that we were going to have a major property crash here in Northern Ireland.

I remember being laughed at by my parents, my friends - most of whom bought into the 'if you don't buy now you'll miss the boat' !!!!.

I remember reading newspaper articles about the future and how it was going to be a 2 tiered society - those who rented and those who were home owners.

I remember the day when I decided to sell my house and rent instead.

I also remember the day I noticed I could buy my house back without the 80k mortgage and be mortgage free.

I will remember these times, the lessons I have learnt that I will pass down to my children - do yor own research, don't believe the media, estate agents are glorified sales people (alot with their own vested interests to keep prices high to support their own btl portfolios)....the lessons are endless.
