Recording Channel 5 without the end

We have Freesat plus a recorder and we use the recording facility everyday. Each program we set to record, records as it should with one exception. If we record anything on Channel 5, whether it be that channel or the +1 channel, it never catches the end of the program.
It's frustrating because it doesn't happen to ANY other channel.
My wife feels we should attempt to change the times slightly, as in add an extra minute or two, but I'm not happy with that, simply because if we have set the recorder to record something straight after, a box will pop up saying something like a conflict. Any idea's please

I've noticed this too - occasionally on other channels than 5 as well. I think it's just that we've got used to the BBC usually being completely accurate with their start/end times, while some other channels don't seem to care so much.
If you check the settings, you may find one that automatically starts and finishes an additional number of minutes before/after the EPG says it should (my PVR has such a setting).
You can't get around the conflict problem without having a free tuner to record the second program on - though many (e.g. mine) will recover once the first recording has finished, so you should only miss the first couple of minutes, which will often not be that important (but sometimes will!).0
