OK, stupid question alert
I have a provisional, which has an old address on it (got it for my 17th birthday, i.e a while ago!! )
What do I do to change the address on my provisional? Do you need a photocard for the provisional now, or is it just for when I get a full licence?
Thanks to anyone who can help

Both me and the wife have been meaning to change our driving license for over thirteen years but never got round to it.
Yeasterday she picked up the forms from the post office to eventually get this done, we were intending to send the old licenses with £38 to change them until I read this post.
As we moved house and our licenses have our old address I'm going to send them for that.
Thanks everyone.Mortgage FREE as of March 2015

So rather than pay £19 you can just hang onto your tatty old paper one unless you move and then get it for free?0
-
you could always 'move' to a friend/relatives house, send off your licence to change the address for free, then 'move' back to your old address & have to update your licence again0

To notify change of address fill in new address on back of old provisional license, post it to dvla. They will then send you a new form to fill in for photo card license. fill that and send it back and you will get your new license free of any charge. i just did it recently.0 -
Change of address is the easiest way, just give your house a name, as well as the standard 1 smith street, part.
technically it's a change and it'll make no difference to the royal mail etc so no hard done but a little cash savedDon’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -

I'm sorry but that's not correct.
It costs £19 to update your paper licence to a photocard one if that is the reason for doing so. Same as if you require a duplicate for any reason.

Only changes/updates to information will allow you to replace your licence for free.
I would point out there are hefty fines for licences with inforrect information:Release Date: 10/03/2006
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is urging drivers to update their driving licence and vehicle registration certificate to avoid a possible court summons.
Magistrates’ courts have approved DVLA proposals to enforce existing legislation to increase the accuracy of DVLA databases. The police and local authorities rely on these databases to support law enforcement on the roads, prevent car crime and improve road safety. Currently, around 22 per cent of drivers and 8 per cent of vehicle keepers have out of date documents. When police identify a driver with incorrect name/address details on either their vehicle or driver record, they will forward a ’Change of Details Notification’ form to DVLA. The driver then has 21 days to inform DVLA of their new details. If DVLA has not been notified within 21 days, the driver will be given the opportunity to avoid court action by paying an out of court settlement of £55 (reduced to £35 if paid within14 days). If the offender then fails to pay this settlement, a court summons will be issued. The driver could be fined up to £1000.It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Paper driving licence holders
If you need to notify DVLA of a change of name or address (or both), you must complete a D1 application form that is available from DVLA's form ordering service and Post Office® branches. You will need to enclose original documentation confirming your identity and a passport style colour photograph. Send your completed application to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BN or you may be able to use the premium checking service. There is no fee required for your new licence.
which bit of that says £19 ?0
