Plan to transfer vhs tapes to dvd using a vcr player and a dvd recorder. For good quality which is the best means of connection?
1. scart to scart
2. using the phono plugs. these are the white, yellow and red plugs. white and red are for sound and yellow for video.
or
3. using s-vhs for video feed and white and red plugs of the phono lead.
thanks in advance

I believe s-video is the best quality in terms of picture.
So Id go with option 3.
But in reality I doubt I could ever tell the difference between the 3 methods.0 -
Of what you you have stated, the best quality option would be an RGB scart if the video recorder is compatable, if not then S-vhs.
If you use phonos, don't under any circumstances use them that you get free with mini systems etc, they are absolute tat.
Whatever connection you use, Oxygen free copper cables (if you can get ones with silver in - even better) and gold plated connectors are the way to go.
