Printer advice needed

I have a HP photosmart C3180 that is printing colour and black and white photos in yellow, text is coming out normal black. I use cartridges from Tesco and have been doing so for a long time with no problems, the colour one is about 2 months old and the black is new, a message keeps coming up saying cartridge is not fitted properly when I know it is and each time I turn the printer on it prints a test page in black and yellow only, is it as simple to fix as buying a new colour cartridge? or should I get a new printer (I dont mind doing this if necessary)? I really need to print on photographic paper clearly for the work that I do.

If a new printer is the best option could someone recommend one that wont ruin me in buying/running costs - thanks for any help:)

There is a similar post on the HP support site, it says to uninstall the printer software and reinstall the software, as it may a software problem.

Failing that, it could a clogged printer head. May need to run print head cleaning procedure. And if not, try a new cartridge.
