In case you are looking for cheap New Zealand flights, I have just rung Flight Centre re: their latest email.[Please excuse the cut/paste editing of waffle]

Flash sale now on! Fly to Christchurch from £638 (including all taxes & fees)
Our latest flash sale is now on and is to Christchurch, New Zealand flying with 4* airline Emirates! The total cost of the return flight in the sale is just £638 - including all taxes and fees. That's a total saving of £400 on the airline's normal fares!

Demand for our previous Flash Sales has been massive so don't miss out! To avoid disappointment we urge you to call a Flight Centre consultant on 0844 499 9286 as soon as the sale starts. We have also secured excellent rates on accommodation in New Zealand and tours, ask your consultant about these deals when you book.

You will need to be flexible with your dates to take advantage of this deal and must pay in full at time of booking. The Flash Sale starts at 10am Wednesday 26th October and ends 8pm Thursday 27th October or until all flights are sold out. We urge you to call early to avoid disappointment.

############
I find there are only 2 dates available, all ex: Gatwick - 28 May, or 4 June.

Could be good if these dates suit you - I need sooner.

Shall do knightstyle - this 'bargain' price is what I paid last time and I've been shocked by fare rises since.

I went to New Zealand this year from April to May and got return Heathrow to Christchurch for £624 and it was booked through a website www.jetabroad.co.uk

Try them to see if there are any deals for when you want to go.

The Flight Centre flash sales are all about PR hype, they admit there are only 100 seats available and they are always on days when demand is non existant. Regretably for NZ,Christmas to Easter is peak season and Easter to June has the lowest fares with all airlines. Without doubt the best airline to NZ is Air New Zealand itself but if you have the choice fly east via Hong Kong rather than put yourself through the fun and games at Los Angeles on the route via the US.

Totally agree with every utterance, Alan. Los Angeles is Hell, or rather, the staff there fit this category.
re:Flight Centre, I dislike being unable to trawl a website and have experienced rude, obnoxious bulldozing tactics from 2 of their call staff .

That's impressive. Qantas' taxes alone are £504.76 for that route.

Do you think it might be an error?
