Importing Electrical Goods from Amazon U.S to UK

VAT is the 'import fees' - several other threads refer to this & provide links to Amazon's FAQ about this - essentially larger groups like Amazon can now take the VAT etc upfront so in theory there's no more to pay
Warranty is another issue altogether0 -
Actually what I like about Amazon's upfront collection of all import fees is that if you read their page on the matter, it says that if the final fee they pay turns out to be less than what you've prepaid, then they'll refund you the overpayment (fairly normal!) but that if the fee is more than your prepayment, they won't ask you for the difference
I guess there can be variations because of exchange rate fluctuation between the time you prepay the fees and Amazon has to pay for them. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0
