Barclaycard can they access my bank account?

Hi Hoping someone may help,i have a small business and have a barclaycard business pdq machine in my office,to make this story short what they are saying is they credited my bank account in error which happens to be with barclays.

Are they allowed to have access to my bank account as they have faxed me saying they have enclosed copies of my bank statements and copies of my merchant invoice statements.

I am really not sure if they are allowed access to my bank account just because it is with barclays and they are barclaycard. would they have the same access if my account was with HSBC for instance.

Yes they can. As its the same bank they can see your accounts.
The same way they can offset funds from one of your accounts to another (if you get overdrawn or into arrears on an account).

If you banked with HSBC then no they wouldn't be able to see your statements.
