A good offer and useful post but as my car engine's capacity is 4.3 litre then it would mean purchasing an extra litre separately for an oil change.
I just use Toyota's own oil at almost a pound cheaper for 5 litre, not four.0 -
Just watch Magnatec as it's not a particularly good quality oil - fine for runabouts or anything with a small, unstressed engine but don't go putting it in a car that you constantly give a hard time or any sort of performance vehicle.0

Oils are made to a standard specification - its on the container. Magnatec is a brand covering a range of oil specifications (part and fully synthetic) and there isnt anything worse about them than any other brand made to the same spec.0

To non-trade I think you should stock up on that offer, especially the fully synth 5W/30 "Vauxhall" one. Its a great oil and it covers a lot of cars.0

Completely accept that - it's just the spec itself isn't great which sometimes misleads people who automatically assume Castrol oil is better0 -
The API rating is an indication of the spec of the oil and if it meets one of the more recent API classifications such as SL or SM then that is as good an indication as any of the specification."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Had a debate on here a while back about magnetec A1, now I've done some more research lately and A1 prior to 2008 was a fairly lousy spec, but in 2008 the ACEA upped the requirement of A1 to one of the most stringent meaning that Magnetec A1 is also good enough to be A5/B5 compliant too.
