  • Hi, could you please put me down for £400? Thanks! I'm going to need all the help I can get. There are 6 of us (me, OH, DD9, DD3, DS1, DD3months plus 1 dog and 1 cat). This must include all food, household supplies, pet care, nappies, ect. and I can only shop locally. To be honest, I am terrified to the point of losing sleep. If I don't pull this off then we don't make rent!

  • Can I have £200 (28th October - 24th November)

I seem to be a little over this month, I am really struggling to stay in budget, but not to worry it's only a few pence here and there... Week 2 is budgeting at nearly £2 over which is an issue!

    Totals so far:

Big Monthly Bulk Shop £100.31/£100
    Week 1 £25.65/£25
    Week 2 £0/£25
    Week 3 £0/£25
    Week 4 £0/£25

    Total £125.96/£200 (28th October - 24th November)

    NB. Confirmation Budget £10.32/£10

Absolutely disasterous start to the challenge. Woke up late for work and had to blow 2 quid on a taxi rather than 4p on the bus. In addition free lunch today was pretty much inedible (school dinners :p )

On the upside I have only smoked three cigarettes and have a big pile of yummy leftovers to turn into a ragu using some Ikea pasta sauce I picked up over the weekend.

    Hello all

First of all, I wanted to say today was my first NSD!!! Yahoo!! :T

Yesterday, I spent £47.96 in Aldi and £5.57 on a pumpkin, bread, milk, and two danish pastries (I couldn't help it!!).

I have enough from the Aldi shop to feed us for the week and to top up the freezer. I also bought some fabric conditioner in Aldi - it's an experiement, cos my little one has dodgy skin. If she breaks out in excema, I might have to go back to the pricey stuff :o

I've found the best thing for fabric softener for DS1's eczema is diluted vinegar - I use an empty fabric softener bottle & put 1/3 vinegar & 2/3s water with a few drops of essential oils to make it smell lovely. Added bonus is that his stinky school shirts come up non-sweaty ;-)

DS2 & I had a lift to school from our lovely vicar & his wife, which puts me very early for the bus to work (once an hour), but gives me a chance to work out how much change I need from the bank for bus fares ;-) I get off the bus outside the bank so I'll be straight in there so I don't have to post more emergency ' bus fare change' spends.

nsd for me trying to decide what to make for tea, i cooked up some chicken breats last night i had defrosted on fri as i'm funny about chicken and really didn't want to leave it any longer hubby had some hot in a sandwich but now i have loads left to do something with, i was thinking pie but i don't fancy pie and there prob enough for 3 pies and not enough room for them in the freezer, or chicken casarole and freezze some for a pie later in the week/month, breakfast was cheerio's and lunch will be pasta i'm still keeping my own eatings to a minium to see how i go so i'm havings toast now and a cupasoup for lunch if i'm ok i'll have a small dinner

I managed to come in well under budget for my first grocery challenge in October so I want to reduce my budget this month, however with the big C coming up soon and November being a 5 week month for us I will be cautious with the reduction.

In light of the above can you put me down for £320 for November please. This is for 2 adults, 2 kids, giant dog, parrot and aquarium. Including everything household toiletries, cleaning and food running from the 1st to the 30th.

    Good luck everyone!

  • Hi everyone, just popped over from the October challenge.

I have been umming and ahhing about target for this month. As I only just managed last month, and given that I have 2 birthday's this month (so extra mouths to feed) I am going for £430. I have given myself a mini challenge though, I need to use up as much as I possibly can from the freezers/larder as we are due to move in the 3rd week of January  I also have some serious decluttering to do :o but I guess that is another thread!

Thanks to everyone taking the time to get the thread up and running :)

    Morning

    Budgets done to here

Need to update ny siggy with some more spends - Oven Pride for Ovens is £3 in MrT but Oven Pride for BBQ's is reduced to 75p - I checked the ingredients and they look exactly the same so I bought 4 - will give it a go some time this week, if its ok I'm going to get some more

LosingPatience - Congratulations on your forthcoming Wedding, if it was me I'd do the spends on lovely stuff and NOT include it in my Grocery money, hope you both have a lovely, lovely wedding and honeymoon
