I thought maybe because the glasses are faulty, both lens and frame, then I would surely be entitiled to a refund. There was no info given to me before I purchased these to say I would only be entitled to an exchange?
What could I tell them in store to sway them, as they are set on this "exchange" rubbish? Thanks in advance.
They may well be entitled legally to just offer you an exchange but if you are really not happy to do that then I think if you approach head office and explain you are unhappy with the goods they have provided so far and want your money back you may stand a good chance of getting it.
I had a similar problem with Vision Express (it was a little different in my case as they did not have the same frames and I could not find any others I liked) and I got a refund. It is worth a try.0 -

Obviously 2 days does seem a bit long, though it is frustrating for me. So, I could have been certain for a refund if I took them right back within the first day which seems like a reasonable time? Or even if it was within this reasonable time period, could they have still gotten away with giving me a simple exchange? I do not see why a repair would be even be an option - I paid for new goods, £250 for a pair of glasses that need repaired right away doesn't seem right to me.
I absolutely agree with you, particularly the last sentence. I do not think that 2 days is too long, even for glasses. It is quite possible not to notice a scratch on your lens immediately, particularly when you are also getting used to a new prescription. In this case the lens and the frames were faulty and I think it would be fair for you to argue that there is a strong possibly that the damage to both could have been caused at the same time.
I think 2 days is still an adequate time for you to reject the goods.0
