Ebay moan

Hi,

Had an item end Friday, buyer had a bidding war right at the last minute and my item went for more than I expected (not loads: £6).
No payment as of yet. Had an email Monday morning saying that had been ill and will have payment by the end of the day. Well it's Tuesday evening and not heard a thing. I have just dropped them a quick email asking them when to expect payment.
If they buyer doesn't pay tomorrow or reply shall I do a NPB?

Also a totally separate issue. I bought a fairly cheap item off ebay. Paid the second I had won. All this sellers items state "will post as soon as payment is received". I wasn't desperate for this item. It turned up 7 days after I had paid, the post mark was for the 19th and it arrived on the 20th (so they posted it 6 days after payment). however they marked it dispatched three day earlier.

I know this sounds silly, but as a seller I post as soon as I can, or get someone else who is at home during the day to post.
I contacted them to ask why it was marked as sent three days before sending so no reply.

Shall I leave positive feedback and a low DSR for dispatch time?

I would probably drop them a star or two on postage/despatch.

Partly why i rarely sell stuff, Nothing expensive so the money earned doesnt make me want to rush
    out and post the stuff.

Old computers, Probably cost in the region of £1000 when new, Sold for £8 i think. I did better with the slightly
older one that didnt work. £20+.

Oh well it cleared a box out of the cupboard. Room for something new.

I always give people a week. I think it's different for a large amount, as I'd want to get my hand on the cash ASAP, but as recently, I sold a pair of 2-3 yr trousers for 2.50 and the buyer didn't pay for 6 days, that didn't bother me.

I agree. There was one item once I wasn't able to pay for immediately but I didn't want to miss out, so I messaged the seller before bidding to ask if they'd be willing to wait for me to get the money together (a couple of days) if I was the winning bidder. They were fine with this so I got the item. It's common courtesy. I have no problem with waiting for a customer to pay if they have the good grace to contact me first.
  • They have finally paid. Was just about to do the NPB, gave my paypal one last check and the money was there!
    Thanks for the advice.
  • I am getting really annoyed with NPB's at the moment, I have rarely had a problem but lately seem to have loads. I had an auction end last Tuesday, went for quite a bit of money, buyer messages next night to say they never expected it to go for so much and didn't have enough money yet could I wait till next Tuesday (yesterday). I said ok, Tuesday has been and gone, 2 messages to buyer with no response so I am just about to open a npb, they are a fairly new ebayer and seem to have gone on a spending spree in the past week hmmm!
