I'm off to Egypt for christmas we're going to Hurghada which is lovely, I have been to Egypt a few times luxor was the first time I went it is a city it's very dusty and dirty, sharm is like blackpool and hurghada is just quiet and lovely, We've never felt unsafe there.
I've never been to cairo so I can't really comment on that.

Hope not :eek:Doshwaster wrote: »Surely it's about time there was a revolution in Cuba?
I checked my travel insurance and it specifically doesn't cover wars and revolutions.0 -
I know you are not going now as you off to Cuba but just for anyone else reading this, the above is not the case, Marsa Alam is quiet as quiet can be! If you want some good diving and snorkelling or just want some quality beach time Marsa Alam is perfect but not if you want to do anything else.Anybody been to Marsa Alam? It looks like a better location than Sharm if you want a bit more than just slobbing by the beach.
Cuba is fab, which resort are you off to?:beer:0 -

I know Marsa Alam is quiet, but it is within a bus ride of Luxor.
We are doing a twin centre holiday in Cuba, with 3 nights in Havana and 10 nights in Guardalavaca.0 -
Enjoy! We were in Guardalavaca last Oct and it was fab! Bit Humid and hot at that time but at Easter it will be perfect. Highly recommend the trip the rep sells where you get to go to a farmers plantation. Excellent day out and you get to see a bit of the real Cuba and also try some fresh fruit from his crop!:beer:0
