  • I would love to join too, because I really am proud that I've pulled my socks up and am dealing with this now, rather than hoping it will go away.

Please could you enrol me into the DFW Nerd Club.

Light bulb moment - Wednesday 16 January 2008.
Unsecured debts at that date £48,507.00 via 9 credit cards and 1 loan.

I don't remember when I was debt free last - probably sometime in the middle of the 80's. Having read with humility the forum boards, I realise that there are many more people out there in a worse situation than ours - even though ours seems dire to us.
Reading the posts has given me the inspiration to share my debt secret with other people (even though it is done anonymously) - it was still hard for me to share this information. And it has given me the kick start I needed to start the long road to becoming debt free.
The road to bankruptcy is paved with short heads and necks.

  • Hi

Could you add me to the list. I have a complex debt situation and I need to start dealing with it. Tried to get a consolidation loan this week (yes I know that can be a risky strategy but I thought it would ease the pressure I'm feeling) but have been turned down flat. so - nothing for it but to start writing to the creditors and working out what i can pay them...

There's a further complication. I really need to visit NZ this year and have booked time off in May. I know it sounds like an extravagance I can't afford but my Dad is in his 70s and has emphysema. I am worried I'll never see him again. So - need to start dealing with the debt AND saving a bit for a hefty airfare.

  • Hi

Could you please add me to the list? I've decided that this year is the year to tackle my debt (and the size of my backside - both of which are the size of a small country).

    Cheers
