  • Can I have a number please! I'm just starting to work out my SOA, and really want to be debt free!!!
No more spending hard - Time for the scrimping!
  • Can I join please?! I've been watching the comings and goings of this site for some time now, have implemented a few of the changes but haven't managed to stick to it! But I'm officially fed up of being in debt and not being able to spend my hard-earned cash on myself, instead of repaying debt...

I owe about £8500 on CCs and I'd like to clear them by this time next year - I have worked out a budget and repayment schedule for the next year, but I need help to keep me motivated to stick to it. I could clear it slightly earlier, but we have received an unexpected invite to a wedding abroad which we'll be saving for (instead of putting it on the CC like we'd usually do!).

I'll go work on a signature and await my DFW nerd number :)

    Thanks!

Argh seems MSE doesn't want me to be debt free! Last two times I wrote my post it has asked me to log in again, and when I have, all my post is missing :(

Third time's a charm - can i please join? My LBM came in the last few weeks, when I realised I had taken out finance/put on credit cards around treble my monthly salary in less than 2 weeks purchasing 'bargains' in the sales. What was especially stupid of me was that I was £156 from paying off my credit card, had only £12 on my next account, and only owed my student loan, MSc loan and overdraft (almost entirely interest free). I can still meet my debts atm, but I want to break the cycle and eventually start saving a deposit for a house.

I have written off to all 3 credit report agencies last night, asking for a copy of my report. But while I wait for that to come back, I've roughly totted up what I owe. This breaks down as:
£6350 to grandad for MSc loan (0% interest)
£1985 on HSBC mastercard, have applied and been accepted for virgin 0% on balance transfers card, but limit upped to £5800, temptation is grinning at me, must learn to have self control :A
    £712 on NEXT account
£780 to SCS (0% until 25th May 2008, if hasn't been paid off by then goes up to a whopping £1280 if hasn't been paid in full)
£1500 on current account overdraft (£1000 is 0%)
£1000 on joint account overdraft (0% until june 2008)

making a grand total of = £12, 327  A lot higher than I've been kidding myself, thought it was about £8k

Already gone pretty OS in the last month or so, but could stand to be more. Next step, creating a proper budget, work out where money is going, and my DFD.
    Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81
    Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off
    Met NIM 23/06/2008
