    Hello to you all

    This is my very first post on this forum, but my connections to this world stretch a lot longer than that

    Cut a long story short, my debt history began back in 2002 when I purchased a PC on the old HP from (the evil underlords that are) the HFC

    Last year, sorely needing cash, I strolled into my local HFC branch, completely naive towards the concepts of APR and such forth and borrowed vastly more than I needed (basically borrowing £5k which would be paid back by the sum of £13k), yet towards the end of last year, thanks to this website, I became extremely savvy and decided to get my financial house in order

    So in May this year, I got an old Default notice removed from my credit files (yet another long story) and consolidated the loan-shark-esque sum of that loan with a smaller, Halifax one. However, I also gained a credit card in August and have managed to run up the sum stated in my signature.

    Now all of this has led me to two ambitions;

    1) To clear all of the above debt in 14 months by making extra payments and working vast amounts of overtime

    2) To be in a position to go travelling around the world in about 2 years time, for which I am already saving

    So...the race is on....

    (exhales deeply)
