Nerd 35 reporting for duty again.
Not posted much on this board but I do read almost daily and my road to being debt free continues to be bolstered by all the good advice on the forums.
My LBM was Jan 06 when I was about 9k in debt, and a couple of weeks ago I shifted the remainder of my debt onto a 0% credit card so that was a big step. No loans now, no OD, no credit cards other than the 0% one which has my debt on it (and a revolving Egg Money balance that I use for cashback, but pay off in full every month so I don't count it as part of my debt).
My debt is now 3200. Still a bit to go, I know, but I have the target of clearing before the 0% period ends. It's doable, so fingers crossed.
Thanks once again to everyone who posts on the DFW forum, and indeed all of the forums. Nerds united.DFW Nerd 0350 -

my name is danny and i want to be a debt free wannabee
i have a good full time job and the hours suit me as i can also have a second job as well to earn extra cash.
I have been an idiot in the past and burnt the candles at both ends, i have been in debt for years and now ive had enough. I cant be bothered with letters and phone calls week in week out ITS TIME TO GET STRAIGHT!!!!
i admit that in the past ive been a bit lazy with money issues and i i dont tend to keep records of in and outgoings ( first sign of a bad debter.Thx to this site i can explain my debts what i plan to do and hopefully when, with other people in the same position as me and get a little support in blitzing this debts and sticking two fingers up to them once ive paid.
Currently im just keeping my head above water but i still struggle so any solutions are most welcome so here goes for the first time ever!
Barclaycard 1200
MBNA 5000 ( ouch this is one i plan to get rid of as soon as possible )
Hfc 7000 will be paid at a rate of 338 p/m paid in sept 2008
Hfc 3000 will be paid at a rate of 103 p/m paid in sept 2009
AA 10000 will be paid at a rate of 300p/m paid in dec 2010
there done it!
i plan to pay extra off hfc 7000 one to finish it earlier then use money extra thats left over to pay other one off sooner, asked and theres no extra charge
currently im reclaiming charges from halifax and barclaycard as ive had these for over 6 years.
halifax letter sent 28th feb 2007
rung today for progress report as cheque not been cashed and heard no reply im expecting a nice little earner from this , fingers crossed. This with luck will pay off some of the mbna and pay off barclaycard altogether.
Both cards are cut !!!!!
i earn 1450 per month i pay roughly 1000 per month to pay these off, i also pay 450 a month for bills and mortgage so as you can see nothing left hence extra job which pulls in about 400 - 500 a month
As you can see i try to pay and its a struggle since the beginning of the year i have paid off my car vw golf 10000
and paid off egg loan 7000
now im on with rest, am i doing this the right way or is there and less stressful solution as i work my !!!! off every month, i have bad credit so opening an account is hard, just tried opening a co op account in case halifax play funny with me and im awaiting a reply at mo.
Looked at all solutions dont want another loan nor bankrupcy or IVA
If anybody whos still awake after reading this can give some advice it would be most helpful

Well done Grim, welcome to the club! Can't give you much advice except keep logging on to the site. There are plenty of tips and help have a good look around. If you have a question post it on the site and someone will help I promise. I've been a member for nearly three years and to be honest I buried my head in the sand. I know I don't have as much debt as some but it's still a worry. This is my year for gettin my backside into gear. Not only am I gonna try pay some of my debt off, I'm also not going to add to it. Best of luck Grim..... onward and upward xxYOU LOOK ANNOYED....CLICK YOUR PEN
