Damart - returns

If you have to return anything to Damart - email them and they will send an Adobe file for you to print some Freepost labels! (They make no reference to Freepost returns in their catalogue as far as I can see)

Be very wary of them, they have apalling customer service, and have been persued by the Advertising Standards Authority ,on several occasions, including misleading advertising and alarming customers with final demands.

  • Hi,

I'm writing on behalf of a friend, she has been a customer of Damarts for several years. She returned several items under their lifetime guarantee but they lost the parcels. It has taken us over a year of phone calls/emails to finally get all refunds/replacments. In the process they have been exceedingly unhelpful and have practically said that she is lying about ever returning the items! They have now said that they have closed her account and she cannot make any orders!! Can they do this?!! Any help or ideas of where I can go to look into this would be great.
    Thanks :-)

Yes,Think any company can choose who they want to do business with. Why would she want to shop with them if she has been treated so badly.
  • She is housebound and finds them a company that sells the sorts of items she likes, particualrly thermals so it would be a loss to her in that respect. She also has some slippers she wants to return and is not sure she can if they have closed her account.

What do YOU think the lifetime guarentee means?

Just thought I would mention that I have also had bad dealings with them.
They charged me for items that were never delivered and it took me six months of letters and phone calls to sort it out. They kept saying it would be sorted on the next statement, but it never was and, to add insult to injury, kept adding on interest for overdue payment. I finally threatened to get a Solicitor involved. When the account was finally cleared I told them I would never deal with them again, yet they are still send mailings.
