When I was in one of the smaller Boots branches a woman was playing hell with the SA because they had run out of the £5/£3 vouchers.

She demanded that when she handed over her vouchers for her transaction, the SA should immediately hand them back in lieu of the missing vouchers.

The SA tried to explain that the vouchers had to be retained in lieu of the cash that should be spent on the items.

Well this customer was having none of it - playing merry hell about the missing vouchers - demanding to see the manager and insisting that the premises are searched for vouchers. I ASK YOU !!!

I do hope it wasn't an MSE person though I have noticed that a few people have had run ins with SA over the offers.

What people do not realise is that "behind the scenes" Boots staff have team meetings where they discuss matters that get them down and these are fed back to head office. Now if a lot of staff "feedback" that the vouchers are causing them hassle with the customers, Boots will do something about it rather than have their staff - OR CUSTOMERS - constantly unhappy. It will usually mean less offers or more RESTRICTIVE offers.

Lets face it the extra points for No 7 coupons should not be used at the same time as 3 - for - 2 and certainly not 6 - for - 1 ! The £5 off vouchers should not REALLY be used in conjunction with any other discount nor should they be used against the £6.50 bags as they are a clearance "gift" item. The extra points with Vitamins should not REALLY be used in conjunction with a £1 discount or a 3 for 2. Sure glitches are allowing ALL these to happen but that is what they are - GLITCHES !!! If people start kicking up a fuss DEMANDING it as their right, well Boots staff will feedback discontent from customers AND staff and they may knock these offers on the head or have less of them.

It will be the same in Customer services - staff feeding back that they have had lots of people complaning that staff have not handed out vouchers to them. The powers that be in Boots may then decide - well we will do LESS vouchers then.

It is always best to keep your head down, do not make a fuss, treat any glitches as a BONUS rather than a right and count what you HAVE GOT rather than WHAT YOU COULD HAVE GOT.

I for one will be glad come 30 January / 2 February (and so will lots of Boots staff). Anyone else think it will be a relief !

I think this is the best Boots post I have read in ages.
Where is Narnia and how do I get there? That wardrobe salesman lied to me:rotfl:
  • Many Thanks to the OP on the 6-4-1 deal.
I seriously had doubts as there was no display advertising any of the multisave offers, but husband held my hand and it worked.
Must admit we went to the fragrance counter, where there was a young girl, who seemed more interested in looking at herself in the vanity mirror than doing any work. She had no reaction at all when the final price came up, so we went and got another load.
Thats saved us some serious cash in preparation for our holiday :T
  • well, been in boots in Barnsley this morning, the 6 4 1 suncare offer still working, and SA didn't even bat an eyelid! 3rd lot in as many days!! :j

I got 2 factor 25 sun lotion, 1 factor 25 face lotion, 2 aftersun mousse and 1 after sun tan maintainer, came to £12 (the price of the factor 25 sunlotion) and cost me £7 with voucher! result! I've now got a cupboard full of the stuff!! :rotfl:

Ragtimeplayer, where were the reduced botanics things? I had a look this morning but couldn't seem to find anything reduced. managed to bag a £2.50 lip balm and a free moisturiser + 100 point coupon from the mag.

I topped off my morning with lee stafford humidity spray for 99p after £3.00 voucher, and I've still got 5 £3 vouchers left and 1 £5 No7 voucher left!! :T

All this and I was still home before 10am! :rotfl: PS had a full shelf full of burgundy bags near the No7 counter, but don't know if they were reduced.

Hi Moosetastic and congrats on a great shop :T

The reduced Botanics were on the left hand side of the shop about half way up, near where they usually put the washing powder etc and before the bodyform :)

Remember that they also had Trevor Sorbie for men hair wax on the same shelf reduced to £2 and these also go through free with the voucher :T
Stopped smoking Jan 2007 after 23 years!
    Cigarettes NOT smoked = 240,945
    Smoke free days = 11 Years :T
Cash saved so far = £125,45,11
  • Has anyone noticed that the No7 suncare is now all half price as well as still working on the 6 for 1? I bought some yesterday on 3 for 1 as wanted cosmetics and it was all full price. Met up with my cousin who i'd told about the offer and she had got them in a different store up the road (Bath Westgate) where they were all reduced - meaning potentially with a £5 voucher you could get six items for nothing!

    Oh woe is me!!!
    What did I do wrong?
I have been studying this thread all week thinking of the best way to attack Boots today.
My plan of action was to get the 6 for 1 but if I was to chicken to try, then 3 for 1!! Easy I thought!
When I got there my bottle completely went. I managed to pick up some wipes for the Botanics offer and then I picked up 2 Shimmering Lip and Eye Screens and an eyeliner (No7).
Got to the till and I couldnt believe the total. The wipes were £3.49 each and my No7 stuff had only gone through 3 for 2.
So, to sum up I spent too much, bought things I didn't really need and to top it all off they didn't have any vouchers left!!!!!!!!
Where did I go wrong? Can I take stuff back? Can I complain about my voucher??????
    I think I need a Boots buddy!!

    Poor Kaja!
I would have gone with you if you needed help :)

I went into the Pontefract store last week as I live in the middle with Barnsley on 1 side and Hemsworth/wakefield/pontefract on the other.

I didn't even spot any N07 suncare but If I was you I would take them back and do it again with just the suncare and 1 N07 item, I would probably go for the N07 wipes as this has been proved to work every time.

As a bloke who goes into boots now and then, it isnt the SA's that scare me as they look down their noses at me as i wander round aimlessly looking at the offers as my OH shops. Oh no, it's you lot of mad, salivating women hunting roound like hawks, pecking at the No 7 items, watching each other pick up items and mentally working out how much all 5 baskets of products will come to factoring in 241 and 342, extra points, £5 off voucher, venus rising in capricorn.... You lot scare me!! lol aND Im not convinced as to how much you lot actually save... but hey, who cares, ive never seen so much happiness on one thread. Keep up the good work all.

ps. those in the boots baby club... you get a nice pressie on baby's 1st birthday of shedloads of vouchers like lifetime triple points on huggies double points on boots brand baby products (no transaction limit) amongst other little midget gems.

are you kidding every time I go into Boots I come out with at least 2 carrier bags full of stuff and never spend over a fiver a bag.

eg yesterday got 100 points (£1) and paid 99p for a Botanics shower gel and moisturiser which should have been £6.99 I was then given the voucher back so did the same again etc etc

then I got vits reduced to 80p got 100 ponts back £1

then sarnis mayo £1.10 less the 50p coupon

    I love it anyway
