Foundation brush

I never use a foundation brush. Tried once & as others have said you end up using more product.
Apparently stipple brushes are supposed to give a good finish, however I've only used this type of brush with cream blushers.
So, it's finger application for me.0 -
I use fingers but dd uses a brush and prefers it, the trick is to stipple the foundation on with the brush using a minimal amount each time you apply and build it up, however like other posters I find this uneconomical a bit like a sponge and the less brushes etc I have to wash the better.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I prefer a sponge, I used to use fingers and for smaller spaces (eg around my eye) I prefer fingers but for getting things even and sort of 'flawlessly smooth' I prefer a sponge.
I have tried so many times to get an even coverage with a brush (have the Bodyshop and also a NO.7 brush). I gave up, keep going back to it but then giving up soon after! I have even asked makeup counters for tips, all they say is "just use a tiny bit at a time/warm on the back of your hands first/always have a clean brush/buy our brush its nothing like anyone elses brush and is the bestest brush in the world" (or words to that effect!) despite my art and design and painting background, nope, I cannot paint my own face- at least not evenly.
I think unless they invent spray paint which applies on your face and not your hair (hint: DiorShow) I'll stick to the sponges.0 -
I had a Prescriptives one I still have it over ten years. Yes, really. Now use the Beauty Blender as unlike a normal sponge does not waste product by soaking it up into itself.
I always like a light coat of foundation and that is what brush or BB gives you. Small amount on back of hand and then sort of dab and stroke on to face. If you feel the need a final wipe over with hands.
The reason the Clinique sa did not use a brush, they would have to clean them after every customer. Many counters find this too much hassle.0 -
when i worked on clinique i never used a brush on customers. everything we used on customers had to be disposable for hygiene reasons and foundations brushes are not disposable like the cotton swabs for lipstick or the eyeshadow sponges are.
and its easier with your fingers to blend on someone elses face imo.0 -

Where do you buy the beauty blender from & how much is it?0 -
I think they are great. Never looked back since trying one. I use the NO7 foundation brush. And to clean my brush i just use mild baby shampoo.[STRIKE]SHOPtillYOUdrop[/STRIKE]
