Foundation brush

Has anyone ever used one? I got one for free the other week, but i'm not sure of the point of it. Is it supposed to give you a better 'finish'? My first attempt led to a streaky face:rotfl:

Sometimes I use one, but I feel they waste a lot of foundation tbh which is annoying when it's expensive. The last time I had some professionally applied the Clinique lady said warm fingertips would spread the foundation more easily and that's what she did. I personally don't see it makes a big difference.
I use this foundation , which I love. However, it comes with a built in brush. I found it so uneconomical with the brush that the first thing I do when I buy a new one is to pull the brush off and just dispense the foundation onto my hand through the nozzle!0 -
The trick is to squeeze a blob onto the back of your hand, take a small amount with the brush and apply in short even strokes.
I have two foundation brushes that I use sometimes - MAC 190 and The Body Shop, but most of the time I don't bother with a foundation brush because I always have to wash it after use, wait for it to dry, store it away... it's much more convenient to use my (clean) fingers!0 -

I agree - I use The Bodyshop's foundation brush and it helps foundation to sit on my skin. It can be a bit of a pain washing it every time after use though. In the end the journey's brought joys which outweigh the pain.

I'm a make-up junkie, fingers are best for foundation IMHO.0

I have only white towels & bedding (I hate coloured towels).
I put my make up on downstairs, I don't go near the towels & I don't get it anywhere apart from my face.0 -
Thanks all. Seen a video on youtube on how to avoid streaks, might give it one more go and see if i like it any better.0

how do you get the foundation off your fingers then?
tissue doesnt take it all off and no matter how well i wash my hands when i dry them i still get the towels covered in foundation!0 -

There never seems to be any on (I do wear very thin sheer foundation - No.7 intelligent colour), but I wash my hands in the kitchen sink after, as I'm downstairs.0
