You can see what is IN an envelope before paying? I suspect not.

If this was a plain envelope with no external marking and addressed to a specific name then that person will have had no idea whether this was important or junk mail before paying and opening it.

(For example - Virgin send out their junk mail in official-looking envelopes with no external markings to suggest who it is from. You don't know who it is until you open it).

well obviously. given its illegal to open mail in transit(as a charge item is until delivered) I dont think its very clever to stand at the callers opening letters. do you?
I dont collect charge items so its no issue for me

So the company you work for spams people with what you freely admit is junk mail, then you laugh about people's frustration at being inconvenienced, and your boss tells people to go fcuk themselves.

Let us know the name of your company so we can all avoid ever doing business with them.

  • all this madness.

he has no case. just point and laugh,.

you are not liable for his direct or indirect consequential losses.

he cannot charge you an hourly rate for not performing his duties, what hes saying is, that HE CHOSE to cancel his appointments and HE CHOSE to drive to pick up a piece of mail directly addressed to him.

you have not broken any laws, nor can you be expected to cover his stupidity.

let him issue court proceedings, he wont, you know why? he cant.

has he invoiced you? no. will he? he can try, but he has not performed any service to you to invoice for, you can post back his invoice as not accepted, and there is jack all he can do.

typically whiney !!! brit. sadly this country is going to the dogs.

Customers can get really annoyed when they get the grey Royal Mail Fee to pay card delivered. The postie often takes the brunt of their anger. Some people really blow a fuse.
I suspect the healthcare customer is normally a rational person and has responded to your company whilst still in a Victor Meldrew state of mind.
He would have far better off filling a large envelope with scrap paper and posting it to your company without a stamp to see how you like it.
