Pressure Cookers

I'm thinking of getting a pressure cooker, but after a net search can't really find the pros and cons of an electric or hob version. Does anyone have any feedback on brands or the best version please?

Wow I did not know you could get electric ones!
I have a hob one, but have gas and feel I have more control.
Have you used one before? If so, what kind and what experience did you have?
Happy cooking.

A pressure cooker will probably be one of the best items of kitchen equipment you will ever buy.
I have used them since the 80's. Always bought Prestige but would not recommend them now. They went bust and the name was bought by Meyer who still market them under the Prestige name. The quality is nowhere as good as the original Prestige Co.
Used correctly they will last for years so go for the best quality you can afford. I now have a WMF (German) but did consider Kuhn Rikon (Swiss). WMF guarantee spares availability for 10 years.
Never owned an electronic one and don't think I would because I have doubts about their durability. Some of them come with many different features. The more complicated something is the greater the chance of something going wrong.
By comparison hob pressure cookers are simple, easy to maintain and will withstand a fair amount of abuse. Always buy a stainless steel pressure cooker.0 -
I'd not be without my pressure cooker, but again it's a hob one. Mine is made by Tower, and I've had it for over 20 years0
