Please Help!

Hi,

To cut a long story short my partner has an overpaymemt of £3500 for tax credits from 2003 that he has to pay back.

I am worrying myself sick about how we are going to do this, we do not have the money to pay it all at once and by the looks of it they will only let us spread it over 12 months which will make it about £291 a month which we can't afford either. We are no longer eligable for tax credits so they can't take it that way but we have a very tight budget due to our debt repayments.

Does anybody know if they will let us take longer than 12 months to pay it off? I really don't know what we are going to do and I am sick of all the sleepless nights worrying about it.

Thank You!x
