atos cancelled medical now letter asking why did not attend

ATOS do keep records of letters they have sent you regarding medicals. I was 'phoned by ATOS to arrange a second medical & they asked me to confirm all sorts of info about me for their security, so we wnt around the "But you have just rung me - so you know who I am" routine for a while :mad:.

After I'd confirmed a bit of my info, he could confirm what details had been on a previous letter from ATOS from the year before - so they do keep records. Sounds as if someone has made a mess, but they don't want to admit to it....

I really hope you get it sorted - maybe your MP could help with the shoddy service you have received from them?

hi folks, after many months of worry my sis eventually had her appeal heard yesterday and was awarded enough points to be awarded esa (wrag). she is so relieved. it states the dwp should not reassess her again for 12 months.

a welfare officer accompanied her to appeal and had written down specific descriptors that she felt would help her score, think she felt it was best to concentrate on just a few. this indeed seemed to work along with a letter from her doctor.

the atos/dwp evidence from her doctor never materialised even though doc said she had returned it to them. anyway she paid 15 for letter from doc and sent it to welfare/court.

during the time between failing atos medical and appeal (6 months) we had issues with dwp not receiving med certificates and money being stopped/late. once i drove to the actual benefit office to deliver the cert and they wouldn't accept it. said it had to be posted, even though it was to another city then be sent back to them! i found this quite incredible, the person was having a cig outside and i asked where to go or where was a letterbox, none and no she couldn't take it.

anyway whew struggle is over for a year, i hope. my sis knows her benefit will go back up and she should get the rest backdated so its a relief, but she was so close many times of not proceeding with appeal, not contacting welfare/cab because of the stress and hassle. her health in my opinion has deteriorated because of this.

i hope others can see it eventually worked out so please get help and do go to appeal. my sis said the judge/doc were very nice and they listened to her.
