Anyone got any suggestions?

My wifes car has a problem on the cluster panel just this morning. When you hit the ignition, all the guage needles start dancing back and forth. I found a video on youtube someone has posted with almost the same symptoms. It's an Tdi Audi A3. Seems from looking on the video results on youtube it's a problem quite common with Audi.

I was just wondering if anyone would know the cause of this? I'm going to call an auto electrician this afternoon, but it'd be good if i could have some info to go on before i see him.

Many thanks

However, it is a common fault. Some people live with it. But for the ones that don't, we re solder up all the connections on the back of the speedo binacle.
