Hi guys,
I've just moved into a new flat and have no tv (for some unknown reason I have no aerial socket anywhere) and no internet.
I'm looking for a mobile dongle for my laptop. I've had a 3 contract dongle before and I found it useless, so I really don't know what one to go for.
I don't download but I do a fair bit of streaming - like youtube and 4od.
Ideally i'd like a payg but if theres a fab contract one out there i'm open to it... Although this is really just for an interim period until I get my tv and broadband sorted so payg would be better.
Currently on maternity leave waiting for baby and i'm going crazy with boredom so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Mobile dongles are not very good for streaming as they all come with quite restrictive download limits. Even the more expensive £15 - £20/month come with only 5gb or so. An hour long program on the iPlayer comes in somewhere around 300mb.
To the original question about value, Three seem to have the cheapest then T-Mobile who promise not to cut you off even if you go over your limit but will just restrict your bandwidth to just (slow) browsing.

As far as the ISP is concerned there is no real difference between Streaming youtube and downloading a large file(s).....it is just data being supplied to your computer.
Anything coming on to your computer is a download of some form (webpages, Youtube videos, iplayer,MS updates etc) and anything sent from your computer is an upload.
As the previous poster said most mobile thingy's have a low monthly download limit.0 -
Mobile broadband will not be a cost effective solution for streaming. And unless you can 'pick up' a good 3G or HSPA signal you won't be able to stream properly anyway.0
