one line security is so secure they are unable to identify my computer and have been 4-months off line unable see my savings accounts routinely on line.
they require a mobile phone to set it up
i neither need or have a mobile phone being disabled asnd virtually house bound,a senior surfer
needing a one off security pin it is sent by snail mail
I have phoned and sent letters several times and have gone thruogh numerous checks with phoned advice and reregisteration attempts with no success. one security question when they phone you is
what is the sort code and account number of the bank topping up the savings account ?? i suggest a no go !
I now heve 2 browsers IE 9 and google chrome.
Now my wife's tesco club card plus has expired and they have failed to send a replacement
guess what ! they require her to have a mobile phone to register on line before they can send her a new card under the new security system . snail mail again.:cry::cry:

So as far as I'm aware no Co-op employee will ever know your full 4 digit code.

Incorrect - the person who sets it up will know all four digits.

The security of the coop's (and I presume Smile's) online service is abysmal! Lets look at what it asks for:

    - sort code and account number OR debit card number - all handed out regularly to shops, friends, family, so that they can pay you, or so you can pay them.
    - two digits from a four digit pin - so a 1 in 100 chance of guessing this correct.
    - first school, last school - lots of people know this stuff
    - memorable date and memorable name - now I haven't told anybody what these are, but if they know me they can make some good guesses.
    - place of birth - this is on public record, available for anybody to find out, and frankly is pretty obvious to anybody that knows me.

All this is just silly - I logged into change these details to random words and characters, but I can't change them - I can only do that over the phone, so revealing ALL my security details to somebody else anyway.

Even if you could change them online, any customer services advisor can read them and ask you for any of the details to prove your identity.

The fun part is that for the last 8 login attempts, its asked me for my last school 6 times and my memorable date twice.

I wonder how many people use their date of birth as the memorable date...

Its worse than that though - I just used my coop visa debit online for the first time and rather than being asked to set up a password it asked me for the memorable name I gave to coop - and more precisely the coop cs agent so they could also use your card for an online spending spree as well as emptying your account via internet banking

Anyone know how to contact someone in MSE towers and get them to look in to this?
    I think....

    Your post begs to differ!

Though is there a reason why you can't just give your landline number? There is no reason why it shouldn't work but I know some systems will reject any number not starting with 07.
