Home Visit Before Adopting Cat

Hi
I had a home check from a charity before adopting.
The man looked at my well scratched chairs, looked out at the street and asked if I had ever owned cats before (I had). Got a call next day saying I could have the furbabes I had set my heart on.
Don't worry, most vetters are not looking for Aggie and Kim standard housekeeping, they are looking for people who will love and care for an animal in a suitable environment.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
They are not going to go poking around your cupboards or anything
It's a basic check - do you live where you say you live, are you on a busy A road but want an outdoor cat, do you already have 35 half starved flea ridden cats in your house.
If the answer to the first is yes, and the answer to the second two is no, you are ok.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
to be honest i was surprised at the lack of checking when we were checked out. i had clean the place and wanted to show her the garden, the utility room where their trays and feeding bits are, upstairs where 'their' bed is
she didnt seem that bothered, just checked that we had access to a garden, and left0 -
When I adopted my last cat, they came 3 months after I had already got her, Puss (Original name I know) was curled up on the sofa and didn't move, they lady took one look at her and said she looks happy and was in and out within 5 mins (that was the Cats Protection league in Wrexham). So I wouldn't worry to much. My ex - husband and I were at work all day, they are usually just grateful for someone to rescue the cats - good luck, your little furbaby will be purring about your heart soon! xx0
