engine noise when releasing clutch

engine idling in neutral, my foot on clutch pressed to floor, lift up clutch slowly and the idle gets noisy with a vibrating/grating sound

what can it be

    It would help if you had given us more details. Make of car, miles, diesel or petrol?

    If diesel it could be the DMF but it could be anything really...

    Fairly likely to be the DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel) then. Not uncommon on this model. Not cheap either unfortunately.

    Do a google for corsa DMF and you'll find you're not alone!

    There is a Vauxhall Owners Club Forum, which you can Google, which should be able to help you. It certainly helped me with my Astra.
