I want item but missed the bidding

I was watching an item but missed the bidding. The item ended with no bids. I asked the seller if it was still available and she confirmed it was. Its starting bid was 99p plus £2 postage. Should I offer the 99p or is that a bit cheeky. Plus if we agree a price, how is the best way to pay for it as i presume we will do this outside of ebay.
thanks

for protection perhaps agree a price and seller can relist as a buy it now and then you can quickly buy it

you could always use a snipe site
goofbay
Gixen
ezsniper
bidnapper
are just a few.
this way you place a bid that the seller is not awre of until the last seconds of the auction end, so in your case as their were no bids on the auction if you used a snipe service you would have won this and you dont need to wait for that 2 am auction to end0 -
That's not nesessary. A paypal invoice gives you as much protection without the messing about.mummyplus3 wrote: »for protection perhaps agree a price and seller can relist as a buy it now and then you can quickly buy it

As has been stated there is no additional protection by using ebay- and I doubt whether any seller is going to spend 40p to list a 99p item.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So if i take their email address, offer 99p and make payment thro paypal. Does this sound like best option. But does it cost them to go thro paypal to recieve the money0

Yes it still costs them money, but they will have factored that in to their start price. If they accept the offer don't let them talk you into a gift payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It is a special sort of paypal payment designed for transfers or gifts between people that know each other (paypal explain it much better than that!). It has no buyer protection attached to it- you are basically making a gift of the payment so not to be used for purchases.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'd ask them to send you an invoice through PayPal. Then you've just got to pay it.0
