HI every MSE. please forgive me if this is the wrong post in the wrong place. I only found this thread today. I allways put the radio on in the kitchen and use my comp in the study (next room) then dohhh!! remembered to play the radio via the comp. An obvious thing to do but how many of us forget?
Cut the useage of lecy by half. If lots of us remember to do this , think of how much we can, not only save on bills, but save the planet.

It wouldn't cut electricity by as much of half, but is a good idea.

Beware of Real Player (needed for the beeb), more spyware than MI5.

Surely doing this will mean the CPU/Speakers will need to work harder and therefore drain extra electricity so it might not be the most efficient course of action.

Try Real Alternative as... well, as an alternative to Real Player. I've been using it and Quicktime Alternative as part of the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack for a couple of years and had very few problems. I much prefer their Media Player Classic over the newer versions of Windows Media Player, too. They release updates pretty frequently and there's is no spyware included.

NB that if you Google for K-Lite, the site http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/ is not related to the software and appears to be a scam site.
