can anyone explain the difference it makes 'where' you park, for example i was parked behind a group of shops when the pic was taken how do i know if it was private land or part of the ownership of the shops. It was controlled by parking eye and i now have a parking charge notice of £50. The area i parked in is identified as permit only and by entering the car park i agreed to these conditions. where do i stand if i dont pay. my letter states these parking areas are for legitimate customers! I was shopping in Dunelm in Hillsborough sheffield but will not visit these little shops again This must be what they want? Do i pay £50, it goes up to £110 in 13 days!!

Lorraine - Parking Eye (or Parking Spy as we like to call them) are a Private Parking Company and so the car park is indeed under 'private' control.
As such, you should simply ignore them! Parking Spy are one of the less aggressive PPC's and you might only get 2 or 3 threat-o-grams before they stop contacting you.
Stop worrying, do not contact them, and just ignore them.0 -
The short answer is that you don't pay a penny. This is a private company and all they can claim for is the actual material loss suffered by the landowner. In your case this amounts to a big fat zero. Don't forget that Parking Eye are not the police or the council but a private company that has no right to demand any money off you. For further reassurance please read all the other threads on here that deal with private parking companiesWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
