Praise to Asda

I visited my local Asda store for a few things (3 in total). 1 of these was a well known brand of kitchen cleaner that was listed on the shelf at £1.

the total cost if the items i purchased was only £1.78, but when i paid for them i was told £2.28.

i queried this and the kitchen cleaner had rung in at £1.50. I was told to go to the information desk where they could check this out. I did this and when he checked the shelf price it did show as £1.00.

so this is where the praise comes in, i was given the 50p i was overcharged along with a gift card with £2 on for my inconvienience, which is a standard policy with Asda.

I was merely making a jest that usually threads are damning Asda and it was nice to see one praising them.

I think you need to reappraise what spam is, but you are entitled to report my post if its message was too subtle for you. :o

been a long day, never got the jest as it did not sound anything to do with the post. spam report removed.

and i agree most on here slate Asda, but look at what they did for me as i only had 3 items and i noticed the price, what happens if you have a full weekly shop you would not notice the 50p overcharge

I sometimes think Asda try this "accidental" overcharging thing on purpose and that's where some of their profit comes from.

And what's far worse is how they treat you like a criminal if you go back and complain about them stealing money from you.

And apparently they've stopped doing the £2 gift card thing too

this price guarantee is also a fix. the TV adverts showing people getting pounds back. the most ive ever got back is 35p

So some of the customer services staff say.
In my local Asda some give the giftcard as a matter of course, while others don't and when I've asked they've said they don't do it anymore. When I've mentioned how odd that is as I was given one for an overcharge just the week before the assistant goes tight-lipped and reaches for a giftcard :p

To be fair, I got £3-something back on mine once. That is, quite literally, "pounds". ;)

    Good Afternoon *******,

Thank you for emailing me about our overcharge policy.

I'm sorry when your overcharged in store my colleagues are not being consistent when refunding you. I can understand why you're unsure of our policy

Our policy in this situation is to refund the difference and offer a £2 gift card for each different item charged at the incorrect price.

Thanks again for contacting Asda. If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

    Kind Regards
