I've been looking at CCTV for a while now but most places seem to sell more DVR based systems or those that do a PC hosted solution still have a special card and analogue cameras.
As the area I want to cover is a reasonable size, I don't want to run all my cables back to my PC. Surely a CAT5 LAN with IP cameras is the way to go on this and then just run one cable back to my PC.
Has anybody got any expience with this?

just a quick google shows this kind of kit which will do what you want ( only had a 4 channel management app included , but I'm sure you can get apps which will do more )

I have a cheap Motorola Homesight kit for £49 at PC world. Has wireless cameras,ok but in old building range is short and have fitted wired camera as well. Takes up to 12 wireless devices and 3 wired camers. capture motion, stores and emails. PC world have been clearing this out with wireless cameras as low as £12.97.
