Which HD Monitor to buy!?

Hey all, hope you're well :j

Thanks to the help of the MSE forum, a couple of years ago I bought a TFT Monitor (Acer X193W) to connect to my Playstation. It has served me very well, but I think it's time for an upgrade.

I'm looking for something AROUND the 19"-24" region, full HD (1080p), ideally with HDMI input so that I can connect the PS3 directly to it.

Having had a look through amazon, I've found the following which seem to
be popular, HOWEVER, I have no clue as to what features to look for and which types/brands are better than others! For example, what does "300 cd/m2, 70000:1 (dynamic), 5 ms" mean? Seeing as I'm looking to play HD games on it which are the important features? There is just so much choice nowadays!

If someone could kindly let me know what I should be on the lookout for it would be much appreacited!!

Thanks a lot, here is what I've found so far, though they're quite pricey!

Thanks again :T

  • None of these monitors have in-built speakers so you will be playing in quiet all the time. Unless you have other methods to get around this.
For a PC with external Speakers they are all decent enough. I have the Benq G2222HD and find it brilliant for light games - But its on a PC.
If you don't want sound, then any will do, with the right cable as well (as some have DVI inputs and not HDMI).
If you want sound, it might be better to be looking at getting a TV - as you can connect the TV to a PC/Laptop as well as the PS3
