Using an external blog to increase Site traffic

Hello

I am a face painter and glitter tattoo artist and have been getting good business from Friends and family but am now looking to reach a wider audience so I have built a website - can be viewed in my profile - Made Face book business page for my company and have tried my best at SEO optimisation. I am thinking about putting together some you tube demos that link back to my site when I have a bit of time, and am considering working on a blog where I can up load new designs, step by step tutorials and pictures from event's I've painted at, as well as advertise the videos when they get made.

I'm with Google site through GBBOL at the moment, yes it's template based and free for the first two years, but I found it easy to use and update. I think I read that I can inlcude a blog page directly in my site, but is it better to use an external blog service wiht regards to create traffic and SEO?

Thanks for any help or tips and any constructive critism on the web site is very welome too

Both external and internal blogs have their benefits. IN my personal opinion, an internal is better as the traffic is directed straight to your site through searched phrases in your posts. Then people can search the rest of your site to see what you do.

An external is also good and if you can do both without duplicate posts and too much lost time then that's useful The key is to get as many good quality posts of at least 200-300 words as possible. 1 per day is ideal.

    Internal blog all the way.

With regards to your site, you need to recitify the spelling and grammar issues you have on your site. The background is too small (I'm assuming it's 800 x 600 in size so a bigger resolution will make it look odd. The Facebook like button has gone a bit wrong as well!

Did you write the content? If so I would change it to "I", rather than the third person perspective that is currently on there.
