Collingwood only insure learners so as soon as your son passes his test, his cover will cease.
The reason they are so cheap in comparison to other insurers is because learner drivers have to be accompanied so they therefore perceive the risk as lower.
Once the learner passes their test they have to buy a policy from elsewhere so it may be better to put the money for the Collingwood policy towards another one that will cover him when he passes his test and at least he will start earning bonus.
Collingwood policies seem good for individuals learning in the family car as the family no claims is protected. Just make sure you discuss his conviction with them because they may either decline to offer cover or apply a loading.0 -
I dont like to say this, but within the first 6 months a 17 year old with a saxo with have a bump dont put your no claims at riskDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
