Real or Fake tree this year...

3 children, 2 cats and 1 dog - we're having a fake tree!!! We have a lovely one which looks pretty real and the lights are already attached, which diminishes the possibility of the great dog electrocution of 2008 (she's fine now!!)."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

We used to have the 'real thing' but what with two cats messing about it go so pine needles were in the carpet year after endless year.
So, we got a fake one from good old 'woolworths' and it's done us well. By the time its lit up and decorated it looks really good.
But this year we have different problems -health mainly-and it will be hard for either me or OH to decorate it so I was thinking of going for a 'bare tree' (think thats what they're called) -sort of twig like............be easier to dress up I thought. (not mentioned it to OH yet though:)) and not sure where to get one from.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

We had a real one for many years but the last 5 years or so they seem very expensive so we bought a really nice fake one and still like it, so I believe we made the right decision :-)0

We've had the same fakey for the last 7 years and it still looks good.
Pine essential oil with some orange or tangerine and clove adds a real Christmassy aroma....
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

In our house Christmas just isn't Christmas without a real tree - we even love the choosing of it, all part of thr build up for us.0

I couldn't agree more.. we love choosing our tree... the last three years we have done the christmas elf thing, so part of the elves arrival is going to a christmas tree farm and picking our own and having them dig it up for us!! Last years was fab as we had snow on the ground!

My mum had a real tree every year until 3 years ago although I love her fake tree the real one was alot more special as we got to go and choose it and then bring it home to decorate and the smell was very chrismassy she sprayed it with about 4 bottles of hairspray and it hardly ever dropped pines unless you really banged into it then there were only a few!! She got a fake one due to us getting a boxer and him trying to eat the real on!! It just dosnt feel the same but still looks good and kinda looks like a real one I guess!!:santa2: :rudolf:
