Surprising consumer of electricity
I have just discovered a surprising consumer of 5 kWh of electricity per day in my house.
The surprising consumer?
My wife.
She has been away for the past 3 days and in that time electricity consumption has dropped from 12 kWh per day to 7 kWh per day.
Pity she is coming back tomorrow.:rotfl:

Oven and bath probably!
Oven is gas and hot water is heated by gas.
Washing machine, vacuum and no TV as I watch it on my computer as I have a freesat card.
Must be the downstairs lights, but they are energy saving lamps.
That still doesn't account for 5 kWh though.0 -

Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Spends forever in the shower. Then switches the TV on upstairs, goes downstairs, switches the TV there on and goes into the kitchen to bake a cake in the electric oven while listening to the stereo. Just my experience....:)

I'm now going to measure how much my hair dryer uses after reading the OP's post!
If your wife has a powerful hair dryer and it takes a while to dry her hair, that might account for a chunk of the consumption! From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -
