Winter fuel payment when in care home.

Just wondered if someone of 97 is self funded in a care house would they still get the winter fuel payment?

"But you won’t qualify for a Winter Fuel Payment if, throughout the week of 19–25 September 2011:...

you lived in a care home, an independent hospital or Ilford Park Polish Resettlement Home (and had done so for the previous 12 weeks or more) and you were on Pension Credit, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance"

Yes they will unless the rules have changed for this year which I doubt.

As long as they remain self funded yes. It goes towards the fuel they pay for through their fees.

should note that is it only a half payment they should be getting not the full amount

My dad is in a care home, paying his own fees, he got it last year.
