Each to their own I guess, it's free it's not credit expert it is call credit and they are a CRA and banks etc do check them just as much as the other 2 so it's equally important to ensure data is correct at all 3 agencies.0

My mistake as it looks like I misread your previous post as I initially read it that you were suggesting Noodle was a way of checking on all 3 CRA's - reading it again I see you just refer to Call Credit.
Soz.

You cannot view Experian credit history information via the checkmyfile.com service - you have to come to us direct.
CreditExpert is more than just an Experian credit report. It includes unlimited scores, monitoring, fraud insurance, intelligent price comparison and so on. If you just want a basic credit report you can get that online for £2, as others have said.
James Jones“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

It would be nice to offer a lower package that lets you view unlimited times on line for a lower cost. I am not interested in fraud insurance, price comparisons or my credit score which we all know is a bit of a red herring.
In fact this all seems like a licence to print money.
Why do we need 3 Credit Reference Agencies? 1 would be enough and to charge to view the file even £2 is a bit much as I am probably right in guessing that the banks etc get charged quite a bit for subscribing to the services anyway.
And if incorrect information is on file it is a hell of a game getting it altered as the customer is never right are they! Also if one agencies file is corrected it isnt automatically corrected at another agencies. All that would be avoided with one place.0 -

Define customer...
As far as the CRA is concerned their customer is the creditor, the bank the person doing the recording of information at the CRA.
We are just classed as the Data Subjects, we have no rights in terms of correcting their customers data.
We sign away the right for 'their customer' to report on the CRA how we run our accounts with them when we sign the T&C's of an account, credit card, loan etc...0 -

I would also add that 'Their Customers' do have a legal obligation under the Data Protection Act to ensure data is accurate and up to date about us, the Data Subjects.
If it is not it must put it right, and if they don't correct it you can complain to the Information Commissioners Office.0 -

Put bluntly - total b*llocks.
The Data Protection Act states that a company must not hold false or inaccurate information about a person. That applies whether the person is a "customer" or not - if the data holder holds false or inaccurate information about them, they have the right to have that information corrected. You do not have to go through the bank - while the bank may well have provided the information (thus making it their fault, and as such something you would be within your rights to complain about) Experian/Equifax/Callcredit are the ones holding and supplying the data to others and as such are bound - by law - to correct it.
That said, if it were something a bank had done grossly wrong (e.g. reporting me as making late payments when I hadn't) I would expect the bank to go to the effort of correcting it. That makes sense to me. As it is, I have asked for small matters on my report to be corrected and not had an ounce of bother doing so, and the CRA has liaised with the businesses concerned on my behalf. It is in everyone's interests for the data CRAs hold about you to be correct.
Lovely bit of paranoia there, though.urs sinserly,

I will never go near Experian again after they kept me waiting for an hour on the phone when I tried to cancel my trial. Worst company ever.0

No that's not entirely correct, the CRA cannot amend anything without approval from their customers. The ICO may be able to force the issue, but if there is something on your credit file which is incorrect THE CRA WILL NOT AMEND IT WITHOUT GETTING CONFIRMATION FROM THE DATA CONTROLLER. The CRA's role in all this is that of a Data Processor only. They can only act on what the DATA CONTROLLER tells them.
If you go direct to the CRA, all they will do is write to the Data Controller to get confirmation before amending your credit file.
The fact it affects us is irrelevant I'm afraid.0 -

It's a freephone number you call. I've cancelled Credit Expert at least six times now and always got through in, at the most, two minutes.
Don't get me wrong, I think they're a waste of money, but not for that reason.urs sinserly,
