Halifax takes an extra banking day to move £'s to other banks + bdg societies, I believe. Example :
Wednesday : £'s leave Halifax
the following Monday : £'s are cleared funds in external account
Coventry Bdg Society's 'NetSave Instant III' account allows Standing Orders (but apparently not Direct Debits) and pays 4.85% gross for balances of £1 and above. SOs arrive on Day 3. Example :
Wednesday : £'s leave Coventry BS
Friday : £'s are cleared funds in external account
happyhero - maybe the NetSave account could be useful for any Standing Order commitments you have, and it is easy for the customer to set them up online.0 -

What about standing orders - if so this is a great little account I wish I had had one when I set up my Abbey FRMS, as I wanted to drip feed from a saver (not enough income to cover it with everything else) so now I have to remember to do transfers all the time! And abbey wont let you change the originating account for the SO which is silly - it wouldnt involve any admin for them!0 -
It looks like this account allows standing orders only to other accounts with Halifax. However, I think it is easy to build a ‘chain’ through their current account.lipidicman wrote:What about standing orders - if so this is a great little account I wish I had had one...
I have this account for a year (in addition to regular saver), but only now I have realised how good it is for DDs and SOs.0 -
Hi
Can anyone tell if smile banks requires a £1000 monthly payment. I have just been sent a visa debit card and cheque book but do not deposit that much in monthly.
ThanksOld Faithful we roam the range together,

When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
