Windows XP activation problem

  • Maybe it would be quicker and easier to load the system again and to use the method I use to connect to the internet. At the moment you're stuck between a rock and a hard place!

I have a network connection working with the correct drivers installed but I can't use them until I can log in to Windows. The network was able to connect to the Windows activation server without problems.

In fact the Retail disc allows you to use it for thirty days before activation is necessary.

There is a simple solution, but I'd like to check something first.

Can you run software in Safe Mode?
I can get in to safe mode ok. I would assume some software would run but have not tried.

    Hello
First of, you have used the wrong Windowsm hence ending up where you are now.
You have to use a oem version with a oem sticker.
You used retail with oem, wont activate.
So now you can either reinstall using oem windows, or boot into safe mode and apply a activation patch, wpa kill, can be freely downloaded, Msoft dont give a toss about win xp no more, so You aint gonna go to jail.

Apologies for misleading everyone but I have checked and found I have in fact used an OEM disc.

Never mind. I will just point you towards the MSI Recovery Disc.

Will dig out the link around 11pm when I'm back.

Prepare your Drivers and extract them to USB or CD.
