Have had amazing news
About ten years ago (maybe more!) my Mum and her siblings inherited some houses from a spinster friend of their mother.
They sold off the bulk some years ago (it's what allowed my Mum to finish repairing our old house, pay off it's mortgage and sell up and move to Kent) but one has had a sitting tenant all this time who she's been landlady for.
This tennant was moved out for a trial stay in a care home in April, she's since be able to stay there and her family have cleared the property of her belongings.
The house went on the market a couple of weeks ago and an offer for the full asking price was accepted yesterday!!
I am not due to inherit anything but it means my Mum will have funds for the future which as she's not worked due to ill health for the last ten years makes a massive difference to her lack of decent pension.
But what she has said she will help with is clearing the Housing Benefit overpayment debt and family debt I have that are not included in my DMP, this will be a monthly saving of £60.00 on my outgoings which is a significant help!
I feel sorry for my new landlady, the plumbers came to fix my cold water kitchen tap yesterday and ended up fitting a whole new tap set and then discovering the toilet cistern was not far off leaking out the bottom due to a rotten seal, they also fitted a whole new syphon system!!
Now waiting on the electricians to come and sort the motors for the extractors and make the front door buzzer sound in the flat. The flat is a little damp feeling but I've just bought a little dehumidifier off Amazon for only £24.99, that should deal with the worst of it
I also plan to ask for this thread to be moved up into the diaries section....

I get two month's worth of disposables every three months and then get serious discount on glasses when I have to change them. I will look at cheaper options though.
I have made a totally new DFW diary in the correct section if you would like to follow me further
Thank you for reading and commenting so far!
