    the thing that usually draws people to laminate is its price, but to get a good quality one that will last you'll have to spend a lot on it - the cheap ones are never up to much.

    Not trying to hijack a thread, but can I follow up on this point from Brendan ?

    We also need flooring, but in a similar fashion, ours flows from Kitchen -> Diner -> family room -> hall. It's under 50 sqm but not much.

    I have been 'told' that we need the same floor throughout. I've plyed the suspended floor so it could take amtico or karndean, but DH doesn't fancy it.

    So would engineered wood work in the kitchen part? I understand the risks with water.
