massively out of pocket

Options
had a non fault accident 18 months ago that has finally been closed after much feet dragging by the at fault insurance company. while waiting for it to be settled i had to re insure and was annoyed to find my no claims was greatly reduced. i was told it would be reinstated when everything was sorted and i would not lose out. i bit the bullet and paid the twelve hundred pounds for the policy!! i did a search at the time with my no claims as it would have been and this came out at three hundred and sixty pounds!! all is now sorted apart from ive only got two hundred and fourty pounds back!!!!!!!!!!!!! the insurers say its because the cheaper insurance companys wouldnt quote because of the lack of no claims but this doesnt make me feel any better been five hundred pound down. any ideas on what to do now if anyones been in a similar position which im sure there has.:(

All you can do is cancel and go somewhere else.

When you got the quotes at £360 were they from the place you're insured with now or other places?
