Shut down on laptop

I have a Toshiba Satellite 303 and it gets to the final screen on XP Pro on shut down, but won`t switch off unless i hold down power button for 5 seconds, plz help

Check the settings in the bios.
To get to the bios you'll need to press either del , f12, f2, f10 or one of these ( a little tip is to bash the keyboard - then you'll get an error asking if you want to enter set up!!
you should in the bios find power settings which should help. Im guessing you have a reinstall of windows on it.kicking squealing gucci little piggy.0
