What did you believe the function of HR is, to offer advice and faciliate a solution to your problems - they exist to protect the employers back, hopefully you will learn a lesson form this.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Using your work email address when applying for another job is a) stupid, as you discovered, and b) potentially leaves you open to a misconduct charge for misusue of company resources. Get yourself a personal email address (a sensible one that will look professional to a new employer, not sexgod@hotmail.com) and never look at it while you're at work.0

You may come accross some decent HR people but at the end of the day they are getting paid by same employer and are unlikely to shaft them tbh.
My last place was more like the witches of eastwick with the cowbags that worked there. Couldnt move for black cars and brooms.
