the McStockers from Castledawson, very good. suits all age groups0

Whereabouts in the country are you because some bands will not travel far. Also I would budget on around £1000 because you do get what you pay for in terms of quality, but £1000 will get you more out of London than in!0

My Wedding Reception is in Ballymena, so any Band, DJ or package (Band & DJ) that are willing to travel to here would be good...
Many thanks.0 -
Best weddings I've been to have been where the bride & groom made their own CDs and got a (preferably sober) friend to keep them coming. It's a lot cheaper and fun to do and you can ask guests to come up with the songs they'd like so everyone gets to hear something they want to. I guess you could do it with an ipod and a playlist now. Maybe not your stye though0

I had actually thought of this as an option but I contacted the Hotel to ask about the sound system and lighting system in the function room and they told me that they don't have any speakers in the room and the lights can only be dimmed. They said that normally the DJ provides the sound and lighting as well so probably best getting a band and DJ. Thanks anyway for the idea.
Many thanks to the rest of you as well for your help, I know we have left it late in getting our entertainment booked!0 -
Sorry to barge in but I noticed a few hits to my site from this thread so I thought I'd take a look. Thanks CS111 for the recommendation and I look forward to seeing you in July and ooo000ooo (hope I've spelt that right ) in April.
As this is a money saving forum and, at the risk of taking this thread slightly 'off topic' I though I could share one observation that may save you a few hundred pounds in relation to your wedding reception.
If you have decided to include an evening buffet my advice would be to cater for your extra evening guests and only a small percentage of your day guests. From the hundreds of wedding receptions I have attended this is one area where I feel so much money is literally thrown away.
Anyway that's my 2d worth. I don't want to hijack this thread but if anyone is looking for help with anything related to weddings I'm happy to offer my advice.
PS It's good to see a forum with a special section just for NI :beer:0 -
Hiya
The best band i have heard by far (and I mean they were brillant) is a band called Backbeat. They are not cheap at about £900 but well worth the money.0
